Your First Visit
Some of our new patients have not been to a dentist in quite some time. Even the ones who are up to date on routine checkups and cleanings at other practices still aren’t always confident that they're receiving the best care possible. The first time you visit us at our Naples dental practice, Dr. Matonti will take about an hour to get to know you, discuss your health history, past dental experiences, and any related anxieties you may have about dental care. She spends this time with you because she aims to provide the most advanced dental care while still treating you like an individual. We encourage you to take an active role in your oral health, so we’ll help educate you on how to best care for your smile.
We Don’t Rush Your Care
When you enter our office, you’ll be greeted warmly and offered a refreshment while you rest in our comfortable waiting area. With soft chairs, candles, and a relaxing atmosphere, you’ll feel like you’re at a spa while you wait for your appointment to begin. Our all-female team is committed to understanding your dental needs, your smile goals, and your sentiments around dental care so that we can design a treatment plan that suits you just right. No matter what you need from us, we’re committed to spending as much time as it takes to really hear what you have to say.
When it’s time for your appointment, you’ll be taken to your treatment room where we have televisions featuring soothing fish scenery and relaxing music. This helps set a calm tone for many of our patients.
Once you’re settled in your chair, Dr. Matonti will evaluate your smile, get to know you, take plenty of x-rays and images to review with you, perform an oral cancer screening, and help you decide on treatment plans moving forward. Then, it'll be time for your hygienist to perform a periodontal exam to evaluate your gum health and to screen for gum recession. If your gums have no swelling or deep pockets, we will continue with a preventive cleaning. At Matonti Dental, you can expect our dental team to provide the most gentle care possible.
